Dr. Briggs holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Arkansas, and has recently published work in landscape ecology, grasslands dynamics, and applications of Landsat imagery to studies of vegetative communities. He is a participant in an innovative new Long Term Ecological Research project funded by the National Science Foundation, that incorporates studies in urban as well as natural environments.
