| Manages the environmental chemistry and organic chemistry departments. Oversees the QA/QC process within both groups to maintain compliance with written Quality Assurance Plan requirements; develops standard operating procedures for collecting, processing, analyzing, and tracking environmental samples; develops improved methodologies for the determination of chemical components; oversees the cleaning and certification of sample containers; performs and supervises analysis of air samples using gas chromatography with mass spectrometric (GC-MS) and thermal conductivity detection (GC-TCD) techniques; oversees the determination of heavy metals and anions in environmental samples using inductively coupled plasma – mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) and ion chromatograph (IC); perform computer-based data interpretation and analysis. |
